Preparing for Life on the Road
Right now, we’re in the thick of transitioning to full-time RV life. Between organizing multiple garage sales, helping our two sons that are still in the nest prepare for their next chapter, and getting our home ready to sell, we’re also deep in planning what our life will look like on the road.
A big decision? Choosing the right RV.
After weighing our options—a motorhome, a bumper-pull travel trailer, and a fifth-wheel—we ultimately chose a fifth-wheel toy hauler. It’s the only option that fit our active lifestyle and all the gear we’re bringing with us.
And by gear, we mean:
Two electric dirt bikes
Mountain bikes
A paramotor
A mobile golf simulator (yes, really!)
Golf clubs
Silversmithing tools and bench
And more...
Meet the Brinkley G3950 and Ford F-450
After exploring several models, we chose the Brinkley G3950—a bold, spacious fifth-wheel toy hauler that checks all the boxes for us. We ordered it back in April, and production officially starts June 11, 2025. It’s expected off the line by June 19, with delivery to Idaho shortly after.
To tow this 45-foot beauty, we needed a serious truck. We’ve always had good experiences with Ford, so we selected a Ford F-450 Super Duty—specifically the Lariat trim. We didn’t need all the extras from the Platinum edition, but we wanted something powerful, reliable, and comfortable for long travel days.
We just got word yesterday that it rolled off the production line and will be on its way to us soon!
Fun fact: We’ve have an old Ford F-350 for years. It’s been a trusty hauler for motocross weekends with our boys, but it’s earned its retirement.
This is just the beginning of our journey, and we’re so excited to bring you along as we prepare to hit the road full-time. Whether you're dreaming of RV life, actively planning your own adventure, or just love watching others dive in—we hope you’ll follow along.
More updates coming soon—stay tuned!
